I must start this by saying a HUGE thank you to Paul & Pam Schell for the use of their lovely Maison! (In the photo our home for the next couple weeks sits right below the wall) For those of you who are unaware of how this adventure transpired..... the wonderful people I work for at the BYI Paul & Pam, Tony and Cathy Puma gave me this trip back in December. What a wonderful gift!! So the planning began. I don't know anyone who talks more about traveling to France than my friend Heather (although Jacki is a close second). The two of us devised a plan to leave our island girl lives behind, head to France to find our Inner French Girl. Aware of the fact together we tend to have way too much fun and to put a little balance in the intinerary we invited our mothers to come along. My mom, Mark and I (Oh yeah Mark wanted in on a little fun too) arrived in Nice late Tuesday evening and headed to what will be our home base for the next couple weeks in Vence... a 12th century midieval walled city.

It's absolutely Amazing!!! This fountain adorned village with picturesque streets is lined with outdoor markets, boutiques and cafes. Our first night here Mark and I walked up to the city center to a small cafe which lined a gravel courtyard. We ordered a bottle of the local Bordeaux with our pizza and watched the locals play Boules until late in the evening. It was very nice. Today was spent exploring a couple hillside towns. Can I just say that the French are CRAZY when it comes to driving. I'm glad I learned a few choice French words. "Merde" was used more than once. Driving will be more interesting when Mark leaves and I'm behind the wheel.
Heather and her mom arrive on the 30th... which by the way tell me Heather you got your passport?!!! Marks arrived the day we left to the airport.
We'll be off to Monaco tomorrow... the Grand Prix starts this weekend. I will send photos as soon as I figure it out. Au Revoir!
